Pakistani trucks, without hardly any exception, are painted in an unmistakable and distinctive style. Most are pieces of art with incredible attention to detail. The following is a collection of pictures, most of them taken through the windshield from our moving van. We were told that truckers are often too poor to marry, so they may put two years’ earnings into the decorating.

We liked our truck photos because they are also a memory of the varying road conditions – as well as the amazing view of extremely high mountains.

It was fun trying to get the photos of the pickup trucks full of live chickens!

The pickups came at us much faster than the trucks did…Many chickens had their heads sticking out as in the photo to the left.

At the far left the empty truck shows the cute eyes that are used as the background for this website.

The public busses are just as colorfully painted as the trucks! Women sit in front!
