and pictures of Gaddafi are found everywhere. The above is in the museum of
Leptis Magna showing the Prime Minister of Italy, Berlusconi returning an
antique statue to Gaddafi tht the Italians had ripped off illegaly some time
ago. The overtly philandering Berlusconi is a buddy of Gaddafi and the two
meet regularly. After
his coup in 1969, Gaddafi has stayed in power for over 40 years. He is
officially referred to as the “Leader” (of the revolution) and his “Green
Book” delineates his solution to how people must be governed. The Green Book
has three parts that provide complete and final solutions to the following
problems: ·
The Solution to the Problem of Democracy ·
The Solution to the Economic Problem ·
The Social Basis of
the Third Universal Theory He
maintains that democracy western style can’t work. Therefore, one superman at
the top who knows what’s good for everyone is the right solution (actually,
that’s not that different from Plato’s notion of a philosopher king). He
still calls that democracy. Since his son is groomed to succeed him, we have
an example of a hereditary democracy… “Nothing
is perfect,” sighed the fox. |
The following are a examples of posters found
